• EDVAC का पूरा नाम Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer (इलेक्ट्रॉनिक डिस्क्रीट वेरिएबल ऑटोमैटिक कंप्यूटर) है। 
• यह पहली ऐसी मशीन थी जो पूरी तरीके से program को स्टोर करती थी। 
• साथ ही साथ यह पहला ऐसा device था जिसमें computer game को run किया गया था। 
• इस मशीन पर सबसे पहले square number की table और prime number की list को calculate किया गया था। 
• यह पहला मेनफ्रेम कंप्यूटर था जो दशमलव प्रणाली के बजाय बाइनरी सिस्टम का इस्तेमाल करता था. 
• इसका अविष्कार 1940 के दशक में J. Presper Eckert और John Mauchly ने Pennsylvania की यूनिवर्सिटी में किया था।
