Limitations of Computer – What a Computer Cannot Do?

While computers are incredibly fast, accurate, and efficient, they also have several limitations. Below are some key disadvantages of computers that everyone should know:

1. No Intelligence

A computer cannot think like a human being. It only follows instructions that are already programmed into it. No matter how advanced a computer is, it cannot work on its own. It needs input or commands from a user to give any output. Unlike humans, computers do not have the ability to understand or make decisions on their own.

2. No Feelings

Computers do not have emotions. They cannot feel happiness, sadness, anger, or sympathy. A computer cannot tell the difference between good and bad. Since it doesn’t have feelings, it can work non-stop for hours without getting tired. But emotional understanding or judgment is not possible for a computer.

3. Lack of Decision-Making Power

Computers cannot make their own decisions. They can’t judge what is right or wrong. For example, if there is a conflict between two people, a computer cannot decide who is right. It can only process and store data, but it can’t express opinions or provide logical arguments like humans can.

4. No Learning Ability

Unlike humans, computers cannot learn on their own. They cannot remember past experiences or improve from them. Computers work only based on the instructions and programs given by humans. While they can store large amounts of data, they cannot understand or learn from it.

5. Human Dependency

Computers fully depend on humans to start, stop, and operate them. They cannot switch themselves on or off. Basic tasks like typing, programming, and troubleshooting must also be done by humans.

6. Virus Threat

Computers are vulnerable to viruses and malware. If a computer is infected, it may stop working or become very slow. In worst cases, hackers can take control of it. To stay safe, it’s important to avoid downloading unknown software and to use good antivirus protection.

7. Need for Regular Updates

Computers require regular updates to work efficiently. Without updates, the system may become slow or even stop functioning properly. Keeping your computer software and operating system up to date is necessary.

8. Electricity Dependent

Computers cannot run without electricity. If there’s a power cut or no power source, a computer is just a box of metal and plastic. It needs constant electricity to function.

9. Hanging or Freezing Issues

If you overload a computer with too much data or install heavy software, it may hang or freeze. This is especially common in low-budget or old computers.

10. Cannot Implement Ideas

A computer can store books, documents, and data, but it cannot apply the knowledge stored in them. For example, a computer can store a law book but cannot enforce the laws written in it. It can’t take action based on the stored information without human instructions.

1- No Intelligence (कोई बुद्धिमत्ता नहीं)

कंप्यूटर के पास इन्सान की तरह सोचने की शक्ति नहीं होती है। कंप्यूटर एक ऐसी मशीन है जो पहले से लिखे प्रोग्राम के अनुसार कार्य करती है। कंप्यूटर खुद से कोई कार्य नहीं कर सकता क्योकि कंप्यूटर के पास सोचने समझने की शक्ति नहीं होती।

जब तक कोई यूजर कंप्यूटर को इनपुट या कमांड नहीं देगा तब तक कंप्यूटर आउटपुट प्रदान नहीं करेगा। कोई भी कंप्यूटर कितना ही कुशल क्यों ना हो, उसकी स्पीड कितनी ही अच्छी क्यों ना हो लेकिन वह खुद से किसी कार्य को नहीं कर सकता। इंसानो की तुलना में कंप्यूटर के पास बुद्धि नहीं होती है।

2- No Feelings (कोई भावनाएं नहीं)

कंप्यूटर के अंदर कोई feelings (भावनाएं) नहीं होती, यह मनुष्य की तरह भावुक नहीं होता. यह एक बेजान डिवाइस है. कंप्यूटर अच्छे और बुरे में अंतर नहीं बता सकता।

चूँकि कंप्यूटर के पास कोई फीलिंग नहीं है इसलिए यह मशीन 24 घंटो तक बिना रुके , बिना थके काम कर सकती है। कंप्यूटर का उपयोग बहुत सारें कार्य के लिए किया जा सकता है लेकिन इसका इस्तेमाल भावनात्मक (emotionally) रूप से किसी चीज़ का निर्णय लेने के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता है।

3- Lack of Decision Making (निर्णय लेने की क्षमता में कमी)

कंप्यूटर एक मशीन है इसलिए यह किसी चीज़ का खुद से निर्णय नहीं ले सकती। कंप्यूटर का इस्तेमाल सही और गलत का फैसला लेने के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता।

उदहारण के लिए यदि राम और श्याम में ये फैसला करना है की कौन सही है और कौन गलत तो कंप्यूटर ऐसा नहीं कर सकता क्योकि यह एक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मशीन है जिसका कार्य डेटा को स्टोर करना, उसे मैनेज करना और रिसर्च करना होता है। कंप्यूटर किसी फैसले में अपनी राय नहीं दे सकता यहाँ तक वह तर्क या टिप्पड़ी भी नहीं कर सकता।

4– No Learning Power (खुद से सीखने की शक्ति नहीं)

हम इंसानो की तरह कंप्यूटर खुद से कुछ नहीं सीख सकता क्योंकि कंप्यूटर के पास किसी चीज़ को याद करने की क्षमता नहीं होती। हालांकि कंप्यूटर चीज़ो को स्टोर कर सकता है लेकिन उन्हें सीख नहीं सकता।

कंप्यूटर चीजों को अपने आप नहीं सीख सकते। ये पहले से दिए गए प्रोग्राम और निर्देशों (कमांड) के आधार पर कार्य करते है। मनुष्य अपने पुराने अनुभवों से काफी कुछ सीखते है लेकिन कंप्यूटर ऐसा नहीं कर सकते। 

5- Human Dependency (मनुष्य पर निर्भर)

कंप्यूटर खुद से चालू और बंद नहीं हो सकता। यह चालू और बंद होने के लिए पूरी तरह से इंसानो पर निर्भर है। कंप्यूटर को तो यह भी नहीं पता होता की कब उसे चालू किया जाता है और कब उसे बंद।

इसके अलावा भी बहुत सारें काम होते हैं जिनके लिए कंप्यूटर मनुष्य पर निर्भर रहता है जैसे कि – प्रोग्रामिंग करना, टाइपिंग करना आदि.

6- Virus Threat (वायरस का ख़तरा)

कंप्यूटर में वायरस आने का खतरा बहुत होता है. अगर कंप्यूटर में वायरस आ जाये तो कंप्यूटर काम करना बंद कर देता है यहाँ तक कि हैकर इसे हैक भी कर सकते हैं. हमें वायरस से बचने के लिए किसी भी अंजान सॉफ्टवेयर को अपने कंप्यूटर पर install नहीं करना चाहिए और इसके अलावा हमें एंटीवायरस सॉफ्टवेयर का इस्तेमाल करना चाहिए.

7– Need Update (अपडेट करने की जरुरत)

हमें कंप्यूटर को लगातार अपडेट करने की आवश्यकता होती है यदि हमने ऐसा नहीं किया तो हमारा computer सही ढंग से कार्य नहीं कर पायेगा.

8- बिजली पर निर्भरता (Electricity Dependent)

कंप्यूटर को काम करने के लिए बिजली की जरूरत होती है. बिना बिजली के कंप्यूटर एक कचरे के डिब्बे की तरह है.

9- हैंग होने की समस्या (Hang Problem)

कंप्यूटर में अगर हम ज्यादा मात्रा में डेटा को स्टोर करेंगे या बड़े सॉफ्टवेयर को इनस्टॉल करेंगे तो यह बार बार हैंग हो जाता है. सस्ते कंप्यूटरों में यह समस्या ज्यादा आती है.

10– Cannot Implement (लागू नहीं कर सकता)

कंप्यूटर किसी चीज़ को स्टोर तो कर सकता है लेकिन उसे implement (लागू) नहीं कर सकता। उदहारण के लिए कंप्यूटर कानून की किताब को स्टोर तो कर सकता है लेकिन उस किताब में लिखी हुई बातो को लागू नहीं कर सकता।

यह खुद से किसी डेटा को लागू नहीं कर सकता। ऐसे ही कंप्यूटर कई किताबो को स्टोर तो कर सकता है लेकिन स्वयं उन्हें पढ़ नहीं सकता।

11– Lack of Common Sense (सामान्य बोध की कमी)

कंप्यूटर एक स्वचालित मशीन (automatic machine) है जो पहले से लिखे गए प्रोग्राम और लॉजिक के अनुसार कार्य करती है। कोई भी व्यक्ति बिना प्रोग्राम सेट करे कंप्यूटर से कार्य नहीं करा सकता। दुनिया में ऐसा कोई कंप्यूटर नहीं है जिसके पास हम इंसानो की तरह कॉमन सेंस हो। कॉमन सेंस कंप्यूटर की मुख्य सीमाओं में से एक है। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि कंप्यूटर काफी तेज और विश्वसनीय (reliable) होते है लेकिन इनके पास सामान्य ज्ञान (common sense) की कमी होती है।
